What We Do:
HudsonValleyWeddings.com is a comprehensive informational resource for planning a wedding in the Hudson Valley. The site’s “Find A Vendor” section features hundreds of wedding-related products and services, including everything from accessories to yachts. The site also provides a free, extensive Wedding Guide & Planner that addresses the many details of planning a wedding. Also included are a schedule of Regional Bridal Shows, links to other informational sites, a Wedding/Anniversary Calculator, a ReSale & ReUse section (for recycling wedding gowns and party "leftovers"), Weddings in the News and a Wed Shop. In a professional, attractive, user-friendly platform, wedding-related businesses can market their “wares” directly to prospective brides. We believe it is for these reasons that the site, into its eleventh year on the Web, features more than 500 vendors.
How We Started:
HudsonValleyWeddings.com is built on the shoulders of three preexisting businesses. As its creator and Web Mistress, I first established myself in the Hudson Valley as a transplant from New York City, more than 21 ago and opened a business as an organizational consultant which evolved into what is now primarily a marketing and advertising consulting firm for local businesses. The third business was a web site design and development firm, Home Page Productions, of which I am the graphic design partner. Several years ago, my husband Jon, came on board.
Our Clientele:
The site targets prospective bridal couples south of Albany throughout the Valley and into New York City – local residents, weekenders and City dwellers alike. Because the information is available globally, many former residents of the Hudson Valley who wish to return here for their weddings, can plan from anywhere in the world. E-mails have come to us from as far away as Beijing and Indonesia.
Most Unique Thing About Us:
The site is open 24-7 and all the information provided is free to visitors. The Wedding Guide & Planner continues to expand through answers to queries. HudsonValleyWeddings.com continues to meet its mission to highlight the Valley’s many excellent wedding-related businesses, keeping money local and also bringing a new income stream into the Valley.
