Telephone Support for Breast Cancer Survivors
For women dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment, support groups can provide a much-needed way to connect with others who are also juggling doctor visits and emotional issues. But one agency has found a way to bring assistance to the patient if going out to a monthly support group isn’t possible.

Beginning November 5, Support Connection, Inc, a local not-for-profit organization specializing in support services for people affected by breast and ovarian cancer, will begin offering a monthly support group for women living with breast cancer via toll-free teleconference on the first Wednesday of each month at 8pm. Topics related to living with breast cancer through all stages of diagnosis, treatment and post-treatment will be discussed, led by a peer facilitator who is a breast cancer survivor. Participation is free but pre-registration is required. Participants will call a toll-free number for the teleconference.

Call 914.962.6402 or log onto Support Connection for registration information.

/l/600/652_s.jpg Chick Flick Movie Review: Bonneville
When Arvilla (Jessica Lange) arrives home to Pocatello, Idaho after losing her husband, Joe, in Boreno, she thinks she’ll be able to come to terms with his death by scattering his ashes as he requested. But, Francine (Christine Baranski) - his daughter from his first marriage - has plans to bring her father home to spend eternity on the family plot in California. When Arvilla refuses to ship Joe to her, Francine threatens to sell the Pocatello house and toss Arvilla out.

Convinced that being homeless is not something Joe would have wanted, Arvilla’s friends Margene (Kathy Bates) and Carol (Joan Allen) persuade her to take Joe to Francine, but detours abound once the trio decide to make the trek in Joe’s vintage 1966 Bonneville, barely making it to the church for the memorial service on time.

A warm "sister-girl" kind of film, add Bonneville to your Blockbuster or Netfilx queue today.
